The South Carolina Legislative Session Is Back. Here’s What We’re Fighting For

The South Carolina legislative session is officially back, and decisions made in the State House will shape the lives of women, girls, and families across our state.

Decisions made during the legislative session shape whether women, girls, and families can access health care, achieve economic security, and be treated fairly by the systems meant to serve them. At WREN, we’re working toward a South Carolina where women and girls are safe, healthy, and economically secure.

Our advocacy priorities center on:

  • Protecting reproductive freedom to ensure that people have access to the full range of healthcare services they need to make informed decisions about their bodies and their futures.
  • Advancing economic justice to ensure everyone has a fair chance to earn money, have a job, and live a good life.

Throughout the legislative session, our team will be at the State House and behind the scenes: tracking bills, testifying in committee, educating lawmakers, and equipping everyone with the tools they need to take action.

We’ll also be sharing weekly email updates to break down what’s happening at the State House, what it means for you and your community, and where action is needed. These updates are designed to be clear, timely, and accessible, because EVERYONE deserves to understand how decisions are being made.

This session will move quickly, and many bills will never make headlines, but they will still have real consequences. That’s why staying informed and engaged matters now more than ever.

To learn more about our full 2026 legislative priorities and the specific bills we’re watching, visit our priorities page on our website.

Together, we can push back against harmful policies and fight for a South Carolina that truly works for women, girls, and families.

Thank you for standing with us.

In community,
