This time last year, in partnership with many organizers, mentors, and community partners, we built the framework for a brand new Midlands-based community engagement initiative called Seen and Heard.
Now, just 12 months later, we are saying thank you to the voices of women who helped set the stage for continued and authentic engagement state-wide.
Join WREN for a Seen and Heard Midlands celebration honoring the women and youth of our region whose stories and livelihood enable our community to thrive.
On Wednesday, June 13th, at the Nickelodeon Theater, we’ll be hosting the premier screening of Seen and Heard by Columbia-based filmmaker Mahkia Greene, a short documentary depicting the journey of organizers and participants in the Seen and Heard: Women and Girls in the Midlands photovoice project.
Free popcorn, snacks, and beverages will be provided at the screening, with a cash bar available as well. Doors open at 5:30, with the film begining at 6:00pm. Since seating is limited, registration is required to this free event. Click here to register.
