Dr. Crenshaw is a leading scholar in Critical Race Theory and founder of the African American Policy Forum. She is known for the introduction and development of intersection theory, the study of how overlapping and intersecting identities relate to systems and structures of power, oppression, and discrimination—and for the development in particular of intersectional feminism.
