For the first time, the LWVCA joins the Center for Women (C4W) and the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network (WREN) to celebrate Women’s Equality Day.This year’s celebration comes with an appeal for action: the Equal Rights Amendment, which fell just 3 states short of ratification after passing both houses of Congress in 1972, has renewed energy. Nevada has recently ratified the ERA, leaving us only two states short.
Join us at the Cinebarre in Mt Pleasant on August 27 for Equal Means Equal, Kamala Harris’s “compelling and persuasive argument for the urgency of ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment.”
Check-in will begin at 2:30, with the film starting at 3:00. The screening will be followed by a legislative update, a call to action, and a reception in the lobby of the Cinebarre.
