WREN’s Statement on COVID-19
by Ann Warner on Mar 20, 2020
We are #WRENthistogether!
WREN launched in 2016 with a mission to advance the health, economic well-being, and rights of the women, girls, and families of South Carolina. With you, we have expanded access to healthcare; we have increased protections for parents in the workplace; we have fought for pay equity and expanded access to paid leave; and we have defended the rights of women and gender expansive people in our state. Our mission is more critical than ever.
The global health crisis affects all of us, but it will affect the most vulnerable among us most harshly. Women and caretakers are on the frontlines of the battle, keeping their families, businesses, and communities afloat. It is of utmost importance that we ensure that they, and in turn, their families, get the resources and support that they need to survive and persevere.
During this crisis and beyond, we at WREN will not stop fighting for you and with you. We will be working on policies in the United States Congress and in the South Carolina General Assembly that will affect your health and well-being. We will be sharing that information with you and providing opportunities for you to become engaged. We will be communicating with members and partners across the state and Southeast region to determine how we can use our collective voices and resources to defend human rights and advance health and economic well-being.
We are here — with you and for you. Please let us know how we can keep you informed and engaged during this time of uncertainty.
Take care and as my mom always says, keep on keepin’ on.
Ann and the whole WREN Team!
