RELEASE: WREN Launches with Series of October Events
Oct 3, 2016
Columbia, South Carolina – The Women’s Rights and Empowerment Network, or WREN, will make its official debut with launch events October 6 in Columbia, October 13 in Charleston and October 27 in Greenville.
The series of launch parties will serve as the Columbia based 501(c)(3)’s first introduction to South Carolina’s communities since its establishment in July 2016.
WREN’s mission is to build a movement to advance the health, economic well-being, and rights of South Carolina’s women, girls, and their families.
Educated, empowered, and healthy women and girls are the foundation of healthy families, strong communities, and prosperous economies. To unlock its full potential, South Carolina must close persistent gender gaps in health, safety, economic opportunities, political participation, and leadership.
WREN aims to close those gaps by: advocating for laws and policies to enhance the status of women and the well-being of families; educating policymakers and the public about issues that affect women, girls and their families; and empowering South Carolinians to speak up and speak out for a better state. Through all of these activities, WREN seeks to build a diverse, inclusive, and sustainable movement for the rights of women and girls.
