WREN: Happy Hour Updates
by WREN Staff on Mar 10, 2017

On March 9th, WREN partnered up with Auntie Bellum to host a network Happy Hour at The War Mouth. And in case you couldn’t slip away from your desk to enjoy the afternoon sunshine, here’s what you missed:
- Our partnership happy hour kicked off with some WREN legislative updates, including new information regarding the progress of H.3809, the 12-Month Supply of Contraception bill. This bill would require insurance plans to cover a 12-month supply of prescribed, self-administered contraceptives, and passed through subcommittee this week. The next stop for this bill is the House Health and Environmental Affairs Committee.
- However, not all bill movement was positive this week. H.3548, a bill which attempts to ban a common method of abortion, also received a favorable report in subcommittee, and will now be moving forward to the Judiciary committee.

Attendees then wrote letters to their legislators to discuss their support or concern regarding both bills. Interested in sending a letter? Click here to see two sample letter templates, one in support of the 12-Month Supply bill, and another in opposition to the Method Ban bill.
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend, and to all network members who continue to send these impactful letters to their lawmakers. For more information regarding these bills and future WREN events, please sign up for email updates and continue to follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
