Volunteers Needed : Photovoice Project
by Megan Plassmeyer on Oct 10, 2017
As the Seen and Heard: Women and Girls in the Midlands project continues, we’ve seen an outpouring of images and interviews that truly speak to the experiences that women and girls face within Richland County. As we start designing and planning exhibits for 2018, we’ll need the help of community members in order to make these events as meaningful as possible.
Interested in getting service hours, gaining expertise, or flexing your creative muscles? Here are different ways you can sign-up to volunteer with the photovoice team today and throughout this spring:
**Timeframe represents the period in which we are most likely to contact you regarding a specific task or opportunity within that interest area.
Marketing Gurus (November 2017-February 2018)
- Assist in the development of flyers, promotion (both in-person and online), and spreading the word about future exhibit dates. Send us your Chatty Cathys!
Masters of Assembly ( February 2018-May 2018)
- Assist in exhibit set-up and tear down. Heavy lifting is not a requirement. Good for folks who want something hands-on, informal, and impactful.
Exhibit Hosts with the Most ( February 2018-May 2018)
- Assist at exhibit events by welcoming and signing-in guests, helping with programming, and posting content on social media.
We’re excited to have you on board! There is no sign-up limit and we appreciate your interest in lending us a helping hand. Please direct all volunteer questions to Project Coordinator, Megan Plassmeyer, at mplassmeyer@scwren.org or call 803-978-2474.
