State Superintendent of Education, Top Epidemiologist, and Pediatricians host press conference on COVID-19

In response to school reopening, the state Superintendent of Education, Molly Spearman and State Epidemiologist, Dr. Linda Bell hosted a press conference. They were joined by representatives from the S.C. chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics to discuss the safe return to schools.
Spearman, Bell, and the pediatricians all recommended masking and vaccinations as our best defense against the rise of COVID-19 in schools.
The state legislature passed a budget proviso that prevents school districts from implementing mask requirements. You can take action today and ask the legislature to reconvene and repeal the proviso. We need a decisive multi-prong approach to protect our students and families as they return to school.
