If approved, this bill would fight discrimination in South Carolina

by Demetria Mosley on Oct 26, 2023

WREN believes that freedom, equality, and justice should not depend on where we live, how much money we have, or how we identify. We advocate against any form of discrimination that impacts the wellbeing of women, girls, and gender-expansive people in our state.

Earlier this year, we worked in coalition with SC UNITED to support a bill that would fight discrimination in our state. H.3738 or The Uniform Antidiscrimination Act, would end negative bias based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and natural hairstyle in employment, housing, and places of public accommodation.

More than half of South Carolinians support policies that have nondiscrimination protections. You can read more about the Uniform Antidiscrimination Act here.

WREN works to build a future that affirms all people and where all of our families and communities, are safe, healthy and thriving. WREN believes South Carolina can become a place where no one faces prejudice because of who they are, who they love, or how they express themselves.

Support our work to advocate against discrimination by joining us in thanking the lawmakers who have sponsored The Uniform Antidiscrimination Act. Contact them here: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/thank-south-carolina-lawmakers-for-sponsoring-lgbtq-inclusive-nondiscrimination
