Announcing Keynote speakers, Alicia Garza, Co-Founder of #BlackLivesMatter and BlackFuturesLab, Fatima Goss Graves, CEO of National Women’s Law Center, and Brittany Packnett of Pod Save the People, Ferguson Uprising, and Campaign Zero for “Building Together: Harnessing Our Power for Gender Equity“ WREN and the National Women’s Law Center, in partnership with YWCA of Greater Charleston, We Are Family, People Against Rape, Black Women 2020, EveryBlackGirl, Inc., Charleston Black Pride, and Transformative Teaching Collective will hold a Lowcountry Forum on gender equity on December 7.

The Forum will take place at a unique historical moment. Our status as the “First in the South” primary state in the 2020 presidential election season brings a national spotlight to South Carolina. We will seize this opportunity to harness the power that women and gender-expansive people have to shape our future. Will you join us in capitalizing on this moment to build the long-term movement for gender equity?
The program will include a discussion on improving outcomes for women and gender-expansive people in SC, a Keynote fireside chat with Alicia Garza and Fatima Goss Graves about centering “radical joy” as an act of resistance, an exploration of the challenges and opportunities of multi-identity youth-led work, and an interactive coalition building session.
