Are you ready to Power Up?

by WREN Staff on Aug 10, 2022

This spring, WREN gathered with business leaders from across the state to explore innovative ways to address the workforce shortage. From those conversations we created the Power Up Action Agenda, containing topic specific strategies and resources to advance women’s workforce participation and equitable workplaces.

In the months since the forum, the overturning of Roe vs Wade has opened the door for states to ban abortion, which will undoubtedly have an enormous impact on workforce participation. With this harsh reality in mind, we have prepared Power Up: Reproductive Healthcare Edition, to provide information on how reproductive freedom is critical for educational attainment, workforce recruitment, and employee retention, and how you can take action to protect access to abortion care in South Carolina.

We believe a more equitable South Carolina means building spaces that supports the wellbeing of women, girls, and gender-expansive people. Our Power Up initiative is our approach to igniting a resilient, gender-equitable workforce.

The Power Up Action Agenda is part of WREN’s Power Up series. The series is a collection of reports and research created by WREN to address workplace inequities in South Carolina. Follow our initiative.
