Emily Mayer
Emily Mayer is a strategist and nonprofit professional with experience spanning public policy, advocacy, political campaigns, organizational operations, and executive support. As a Senior Associate at WREN, she helps translate organizational priorities into action, supporting leadership, strengthening internal systems, and advancing strategic initiatives across the organization.
Before joining WREN, Emily served as Director of Campaigns & Operations at The Ford & Ford Group, where she managed a diverse portfolio of nonprofit, advocacy, and political clients throughout South Carolina. Her work included developing and executing legislative and electoral strategies, managing complex projects and partnerships, building organizational systems, and helping clients turn policy and advocacy goals into measurable action. She has worked extensively within the South Carolina State House and across the state’s nonprofit and advocacy community on issues ranging from health care and education to LGBTQ+ equality, voting rights, and policies affecting children and families.
Emily’s professional background also includes education and education policy, experiences that continue to shape her approach to systems change and organizational leadership. She holds a B.S. in Psychology and an M.A. in Teaching from The College of New Jersey and a Master of Education in Education Policy from American University.
Across her work, Emily is particularly drawn to the intersection of strategy and execution—the behind-the-scenes work of creating clarity, anticipating needs, building effective systems, and giving leaders and teams the capacity to focus on their highest-impact priorities.
Emily lives in South Carolina with her husband, their three children, and their dog. Outside of work, she can usually be found juggling family adventures, planning her next trip or gathering, and finding new ways to make a busy life run just a little more smoothly.
