Nyomi Guzman

Nyomi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Women Studies and Communication with focuses in Race & Ethnic Studies and Queer studies from the University of New Hampshire. Following her education, Nyomi worked at the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation as an Administrator. Assisting in everything from database management to donor engagement, she was able to follow her passion for creating a deeper understanding of the experiences of women and girls at both community and societal levels. While in this role, she served on the Legislative Task Force on Work and Family and was involved in the Task Force passing bills to create more opportunities for NH women in the workplace. When moving to South Carolina Nyomi worked as the Prevention & Inclusion Specialist as SC Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, helping ensure that prevention efforts were inclusive, bringing an intersectional lens to the work. Currently, she serves as a Guardian Ad Litem with Richland County CASA, where she advocates in court for children who are survivors of neglect or abuse. Nyomi is also the Co Board President for Girls Rock Columbia, an organization that is elevating and empowering girls and trans youth through music.
